With its celestial-like foliage, Scindapsus Treubii Moonlight takes center stage among Scindapsus enthusiasts. Its elongated leaves feature rich, dark green hues, contrasted beautifully with silvery foliage and emerald green veins. This variety thrives in bright, indirect light but it can tolerate lower light conditions too. Water moderately, allowing the top inch of soil to dry between waterings to prevent root rot. Scindapsus Treubii Moonlight is an excellent choice for hanging baskets or placed on a shelf where its trailing nature can create a captivating cascading effect.

The beautiful coloration on succulents comes from sun stressing. It is kind of a less damaging sunburn that brings out stunning colors in plants. This also works really well for Hoya.
To get sunstressing on a plant bright light is a requirement. Put those plant babies under a grow light or in the sun. Bright direct light is usually best but be sure to acclimate slowly to prevent burning your leaves. You just want to stress them to being out colors not damage them.
We do have a whole guide on acclimation on indoorgardening.com if you need some help with that!

Though a fiddle leaf fig leaf can root and stay alive for months they do not carry the building blocks of life necessary to build a whole plant.
The easiest way to propagate a fiddle leaf fig is to chop off the top 3 nodes in one large cutting. nodes are where the leaf meets the main stem.
This will cause the ficus to branch out and grow 2 or more branches at the top as well as activate lower growth points for a thicker and more full tree.
After taking your cutting you can root it in a glass of water in bright light and within a few weeks you will have fully formed roots and a whole other plant as well as a healthier and more bushy mother plant.

The term succulent just means plants with thick leaves. Which unfortunately can apply to a whole bunch of different kinds of plants. When I talk about succulents in this post I specifically mean plants like echevaria, haworthia, Graptoetalum, agave, crassula, senecio, sedum, and any other similar varieties like the ones pictured above.
SUCCULENT CARE:
🪴Lighting - these types of succulents love their light and need as much as possible. They will stretch out, reaching for the light if not given enough. When this happens they can only be chopped and propagated. They will never shrink to be compacted again.
🪴Watering - These are all drought tolerant plants whose number one cause of death is over watering. This refers to when plants are constantly being watered to often not the amount of water given.
🪴Soil - Very gritty. Sand, perlite, and potting mix. 1/3 of each is a good solid mix for most succulents but can be adjusted depending on your watering habits and location.
🪴Pot Type - Succulents do best in terracotta pots. This is because it wicks away the moisture and prevents the plants from sitting in a puddle and rotting.
🪴Fertilizing - Use a standard succulent mix as reccomended on the packaging. Generally once a month is fine. Most succulents are desert dwellers and know how to work with minimal resources.
🪴Temperatures - The Temperature range on succulents is massive. Essentially almost freezing temps (35°f) to desert heat Temps 100°f +. succulents can burn if to hot or in to much direct sun at desert strength for to long. They can also go dormant or rot in freezing temperatures but the desert can drop pretty low and that makes these plants very cool temp tolerant.
🪴Humidity - Some succulents can handle humidity better then others. Aloe for example. ambient humidty is generally fine. Not more then 75% humidity. if you are going to make a terrarium, make sure its an open one.
🪴Propagation - leaf propagation, cuttings, or division depending on the specific species. I will make another post about that so follow along for more.
🪴Pests and Diseases- aphids, scale, mealy bugs. overall pretty easy pests to treat with some incecticidal soap or a q tip in some rubbing alcohol.
🐾Pet Safety - Some succulents are pet safe but majority are not. Research the specific variety first. Some, like in the case of aloe, can have a popular non toxic variety of plant(aloe vera) but then majority of the others are covered in spikes and toxic.
