The Nandigram Solidarity Network of the US was formed because we believe that the people's resistance to the government sanctioned displacement and massacre is justified. The people have the right to choose whether or not they want their community to be converted into a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) where DOW Chemical can contaminate their land and water with a poisonous manufacturing plant.
We are outraged by the atrocities that have been and continue perpetrated against the men, women and children of this district. Our goal is to provide the American community in the United States with information about the situation as it comes straight from the people on the ground and to galvanize the support to act. We stand in solidarity with the people of Nandigram and communities worldwide as they struggle to protect thier land and people from exploitation.
