BIOGRAPHY
Tru The Saxophonist (she/they) is a 25-year-old Jamaican Saxophonist and a recent alumni of the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA where they studied Professional Music with focuses in Music Performance, Music Production, and Music Education. Tru is the founder of the My Sax, My Voice (MSMV) Scholarship, a SYOS Artist, and a Make Music Day Champion.
Tru The Saxophonist aspires to pave a way for Black women and Black nonbinary people in the woodwind music world by advocating for women’s rights, gender equality, gender identity rights, and racial justice through their artistry and their musicianship.
