I am a Professor in the Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences at the University of California, Irvine. I hold degrees from Harvard (AB), CalArts (MFA), and MIT (MS and PhD). I've written more than 150 publications in computing, ecology, and the law. My work has been reviewed by the Washington Post, the LA Times, Wired.com, Scientific American Frontiers, CNN, the BBC, and the Wall Street Journal. I have served on the Board of Scientific Counselors, Sustainable and Healthy Communities Subcommittee, for the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
