In between prepping my end-of-the-year music video, I figured I would visit an older style of video I used to indulge in more which were these brief reviews of random Kpop projects. I decided to cover Irene's because I honestly haven't seen that many people talk about it? I think it's pretty good, my full thoughts here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=odQCD...

It's been 2 years since I properly talked about Red Velvet, which is just absurd because they are one of my favorite groups of all time. Let's change that.

As we approach December, I wish you all a happy holiday season 💕

While I’ve been relatively silent on here, I’ve still been pretty active on my other social media. If you want to hear me rant, my instagram is a good place to go: www.instagram.com/taejiu_/profilecard/?igsh=MTg1an…

I also made a BlueSky account, because X is a garbage cesspool full of toxicity and is ran by a shitty person: bsky.app/profile/taejiu.bsky.social

I’m also working on a new discord, I deleted my old one a while ago for the sole reason that it was poorly constructed by me. I’ll link that in future videos when it’s finished.

I want to inform you all that I will be taking down my "Dear Ktube" video, for a variety of reasons, but I'll try to keep it as brief as possible. Before I go over those reasons, I want to apologize to the individuals who I promoted and featured in said video. At the bottom of this post, I will include all the channels mentioned, and a playlist that features my favorite video of from them that I recommend you watch. I tackled taking the video down, honestly ever since I released it, but let's delve into why:

I think the video lacks polish, it's really just a 2 hour long rant of why I like some certain Ktubers. My goal was to help promote both these large, and small channels to my audience, and hopefully build a larger, more connected space with a since of mutual respect. I think this task was accomplished, and it's painful to take the video down because I do think it's overall a net positive in the community. However, I don't think it's nearly as good as it can be, I blatantly rushed some sections compared to others, and that stands out in shorter run time for some creators, and vastly larger spans for others. Overall there is a distinct quality imbalance in the product, and in my video I preach that I need to do a better job at creating a higher quality product for my audience, and honestly I've critically failed at doing that throughout, basically all of 2024. In sports terms I guess this is my slump year. The greatest excuse for that is my involvement in furthering my actual career path outside of YouTube. Which is ultimately, more important to me than content creation.

The longest section of the video is that of the channel @owup . She has garnered quite the negative connotation over her channel's history on the platform. I have criticized her publicly in the past, and after learning some information regarding her stance on certain topics, and her and her friends behavior towards some of my mutuals, and myself, I decided to make a section criticizing her further. I was on the fence about this from the jump, for most of 2023 I considered her an acquaintance and we were on good terms, and airing out some of these private conversations felt a bit odd. But in the end, I think I let my emotions get the best of me and I created the section regardless, I did not inform her about it, because I didn't have the inclination to after she blocked me. In hindsight, while I defend that decision at the time, and have talked to plenty others who do as well, it was rash, since she also had a side of a story to tell. In the video, I offered to hear her out, whether that be through her PMing me, or making a public post about it, she ended up messaging me privately only a few hours after it's upload. She has presented her account of events in a respectful way, and brought to my attention a vast amount of information I was not aware of when making my video, information that added extensive amounts of context to certain SC's and situations. In short, I failed in the spirit of fair journalism, whether it was my intention or not. As a Ktuber I can't stand people who don't take both sides into account, fail to hear stories from all angles, and I critically failed to do just that. This doesn't mean I don't hold the same criticisms I once did for her anymore, I still think she failed as a content creator when making the short about Palestine and boycotts, I still think her lack of clarification on specific topics is rash and can be harmful. This is not an apology towards her, I don't feel as if I have anything to apologize for, what I talked about to a large extent was already well-known public discourse, and I was shedding my perspective and opinion on it. But I will apologize to my wider audience, as I failed at being a reliable and trusted Ktuber. I know this will cause some backlash my way, this is in no way a defense of Cheryl or her actions in the past, but it's important to always hear both sides of the situation before speaking on it. I'm sure this community board post itself may tear a rift in the relationships I have with a few mutuals, but I feel as if it's the right thing to do. I agree with some of the criticisms Cheryl has endured, and I still lack respect for her for reasons I stated back in March of this year, but mischaracterizing her and sending hateful things her way is not something I condone. This wasn't my intention, nor has that ever been my intention when speaking about her channel. I'll reiterate for the people reading, this is not a defense of Cheryl, I don't respect her anymore, but speaking on such situations without any of her input or explanation, regardless if she's guilty or not in any scenario, is just wrong. She provided logical and reasonable explanations for almost everything I mentioned in the video, and even shed light on some things I didn't even know about, none of which I will air out here, as I promised I would keep that between me and her. For some, I'm going to look like a villain for even hearing her out, but I felt as if it was the right thing to do, and after hearing her side of the story, it feels wrong for me to even leave my video up, as a lot of it is what I hate the most, mischaracterization. There are still plenty of things I am critical of her over, the Instagram bio and twitter posts, the boycott short, some of her unsavory video titles and opinions, but having that section feels wrong in comparison to the rest of the video, which is mostly light-hearted and positive.

This "Dear Ktube" video, is the culmination of my growing laziness as a content creator on YouTube. I got complicit in my growth and started to stop trying as hard. While I don' think that's a terrible thing, as YouTube isn't my life, it did start to leak into the actual quality of the videos, most of my videos in 2024 are just shitty rant pieces that have little to no substance or meaning behind them. The only reason my ILLIT video has over 100K views is because I released it an hour before the group debuted, it was in the algorithm, I don't actually say anything groundbreaking, I just spew word vomit that seems pretty obvious to the average stan. I thought, maybe if I made a video talking about other Ktubers, that would re-ignite the spark in myself to pursue content creation once again, but in the end, it just felt as if I was leeching off others brand names. I do want to make a "Dear Ktube" style video in the future, where I can talk about various Ktubers and their content, but I want to do it right next time, not sloppily put together a 2 hour long video with little to no direction. I feel like I owe it not only to the viewers but the channels themselves, because their content is so great, and it deserves that kind of treatment.

I said I would re-enter hibernation in my last post and I apologize I couldn't uphold that sentiment, I promise this is my last post of any substance for a while. I'm actually looking into investing in a new editing program altogether, since Premiere Pro is just so, frustrating to work with sometimes. I want to re-learn how to edit videos and make thumbnails, so my first video back can really be a good one. Sorry for the long read, I thought I would provide an explanation for why the "Dear Ktube" video randomly disappears from my channel.

Anyway,

If SM were taking a test on "how to be tone deaf" they would pass with flying colors.

Seunghan was literally bullied out of RIIZE by OT6 BRIIZE, and I have a bone to pick with these losers. Y'all make me sick, sending death threats to someone over the fact they've been in a relationship? "I can't believe an attractive male idol has had a life outside of being my parasocial play thing!" is what these nutjobs sound like.

SM sitting back acting like nothing is happening, took them long enough to take down the funeral wreaths shipped to their front door. But they left them up long enough for him to see, for the OT6 stans to do their little RIIZE dance covers in front of them in a sick form of celebration.

Then the audacity to push for RIIZE to perform at MAMA in the U.S, SM is literally mocking international fans, pointing their finger and laughing at how upset the community is.

Time and time again SM routinely fails at doing the bare minimum, because why would they? Their artists are cogs in the machine, money makers, action figures on shelves. SM is probably already working on replacing your favorite groups, finding a new way to squeeze money out of it's loyal fans because THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU, they care about your credit card.

At the end of the day Seunghan made a personal choice, but it's clear as to what influenced him to do so. The actions of OT6 BRIIZE and the lack of action from SM, I just hope he can find his way going forward.

Fuck you SM, for lack of effort you show towards protecting your idols.

Fuck you OT6 BRIIZE.

and this isn't about HYBE, but fuck HYBE too that company is all sorts of messed up.

I'm returning to my hibernation, I'm trying to take a break but these companies are in a "who's the bigger dumbass" war and I can't seem to look away.

To all the irresponsible, money-hungry, manipulative adults who are using a group of innocent girls as a pawn in their petty corporate game of chess to decide who’s the bigger asshole.

I detest you.
