Kirtans were originally composed in Sanskrit language, an ancient Indian language . The Sanskrit alphabet has a strong energetic and vibrational component—it is said that the words, when chanted, create a powerful vibration in the body, affecting a person's mind and spirit. Chanting in kirtan has such a powerful and uniting effect, focusing everyone on the real goal of life, namely to re-connect with Krishna. In kirtan we are all equal – spirit souls chanting the holy name, no matter whether we are a new bhakta or a senior-most leader. Our aim is to serve those who have come to hear the glories of the Supreme Lord Krishna.
The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) , colloquially known as the Hare Krishna Movement, is a Gaudiya Vaishnava Hindu religious organization. This organization is promoting Harinam all over the world. We all belong to this organization.
