GBWR are once again thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a limited number of wheelchair rugby coaches to attend a performance pathway weekend training camp, to observe and learn from the pathway coaches and wider team.
The Performance Pathway Coaching Experience will take place on Saturday, 15 February and Sunday, 16 February 2025 at Lilleshall National Sport Centre, Nr Telford, TF10 9AT.

GB took Bronze in the Womenâs Cup. Their final game was a close and bruising encounter with France. The first quarter was very close, however, GB stretched a slight lead in Q2. The French team rallied in Q3 and shortened the lead to only two points in favour of GB. Q4 was a battle to the end and GB managed to finish victorious. GB won 3 out of 4 games and can be proud of their achievementâs.

The Womenâs Cup in Paris 2024!

The 2024 Womenâs Cup is taking place in Paris from 2nd to the 8th December. The tournament is scheduled to take place around the United Nations International Day of Disabled persons, symbolising a celebration of womenâs wheelchair rugby.
GB wheelchair rugby will be entering a team again for this yearâs competition, hoping to build on the success of winning the 2023 tournament. We are looking for athletes who aspire to represent GBWR in an all-female paralympic discipline team.
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply you must:
⢠be a British passport holder
⢠reside in Great Britain
⢠be aged 14 years or over (under 18s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian)
⢠have a domestic or international paralympic classification (temporary domestic
classifications are not eligible)
Selection process
Step 1
⢠athletes apply using the application form by 5pm, 6th September 2024
Step 2
⢠applications will be screened by a selection committee appointed by GBWR and
athletes will be selected to move onto Step 2
⢠selection is based on level of experience, current performance, and the committeeâs knowledge of the athlete
⢠athletes who are not selected for Step 2 will be notified by email
⢠Selected athletes will be informed by email and invited to a training camp
The GBWR womenâs team will have one training camp â in Leicester on the 26th & 27th October. (Please note that accommodation will be provided, and expenses paid for food, but travel costs will not be covered for the training camp.) Selected players will need to be available from the 2nd to 8th December. Competition entries, all flights to Paris, accommodation and food will be provided for the trip. (please note expenses will not be paid to for travel to the airport and any parking charges) (Travel & accommodation costs for Parents & Carers will not be covered.)
