The Christmas Truce was a really nice moment in history where the opposing sides of World War 1 decided to stop killing each other for Christmas. The ceasefire in a lot of places started before Christmas in early December. Many of the accounts of the truce I read, mostly British, seem to all agree that the German soldiers didnât really want to be fighting-
I also have a headcanon that the German Empire really looked up to Britain and would probably have much rather been friends with him than enemies-
Also Britain is calling the sport âsoccerâ instead of âfootballâ because I read that in the early 20th century âsoccerâ was the more common word until the 1970s-
