Before Tony Blair's pledge to bring the internet to every household in the UK, before Grime MC's became "artists", before we knew what these Grime MC's and DJ's looked like, before Dubstep took flight around the world and turned into something else, before Facebook, shit before the days of Myspace, there was this thing we used to do called PIRATE RADIO. In many ways to us 70's and 80's babies pirate radio was the internet.
Although I couldn't record everything that came through the radio, I did manage to record a fraction of what I listened to. This channel is dedicated to the original dirty, gritty, static feedback sounds of London's pirate airwaves. Listen to the Pirate Radio Emulator every weekend from 18:00 GMT right here on YouTube live stream.
Experience the golden era of pirate radio and listen to the birth of all the UK Garage sub-genres; Dubstep, Grime, Breakstep, Sublow, Eski Beats, Tribal, Bass music, and everything else in-between.
