Jon first started playing guitar at the age of 10, studying both classical and electric throughout his formative years and in 1998 was a finalist in Guitarist magazine’s “Young Guitarist of the Year”.
He studied a BA in jazz at Middlesex University, graduating in 2006 with First Class Honours and held the guitar chair in the National Youth Jazz Orchestra (NYJO) from 2007-2010.
He has performed with numerous jazz orchestras and function bands across the UK as well abroad. Other artists he has played with include Darius Campbell (Pop Idol), Newton Faulkner and Bruce Forsyth.
He is also a busy tutor, regularly teaching students since 2002, offering electric, acoustic, classical and bass tuition at all levels from beginner to advanced and is well-versed in many varied styles.
This channel is mostly focused on performances of his own arrangements (jazz chord melodies, acoustic fingerstyle, etc.) as well as some tuition (in the style of solos, transcriptions, etc).
