For those of you who don't know, the ex-UK Ambassador did the most detailed and exhaustive reportage on Julian Assange's original trial with Vanessa Baraitser as magistrate. He was imprisoned for "jigsaw identification" with regards to his coverage of Alex Salmond's trial. He was sentenced WITHOUT JURY!!!! Other, more mainstream journalists, who had been shown to be more guilty were not charged, leading many prominent figures to assert that this was a politically motivated verdict.
