As I hinted at during the outro of the last anniversary video, @donutlikedonutread has a themed month coming up, and as a little hint of what's to come, let me just recommend that people get caught up on our old Gold 2-parter on Little Moon Beam. It's an absolutely bizarre set of poems/short stories set in a Sailor Moon AU which we only sort of understood back then... You just gotta see it. The anniversary event begins with a movie riff, a classic from Connor and my old bad movie nights in college. The movie is now just available on Youtube but back then the Asylum had it on Netflix.
There was a copyright issue with the film in France and Poland, but we have an alternate version of the video coming out at the same scheduled time. Unfortunately you won't get to be at the premiere but then again I think a VPN could probably get you around it... anyway, there's a sync-able audio track version coming as well.

Did you know that 17 years ago today, Connor uploaded a video that got a million views? Back then, that was a huge milestone. Less people on the site, less sophisticated algorithm. Well anyway, just got me thinking about anniversaries, milestones, what-have-you. I wonder if there are any interesting anniversaries coming up...

Did you know that there's a hidden video (think easter egg, not full riff) the SDC made years ago and hid, and only one person ever found it? The original intended solution for how to find it involved pulling up the SDC channel on a non-computer, non-phone device. Unfortunately, over the years the layouts of those services has changed and while it's still possible to find it, it's much harder than it used to be... and even then, only one person ever found it. So now... who knows? Maybe I'll just leak it one day... - Bob
EDIT: Just to be sure I went and checked the video, and I had actually forgotten that someone else did find the video, though I probably gave some kind of hint that helped them, like the one I included in this post. So 2 people in 7 years are confirmed to have seen it.

Are you all subscribed to @donutlikedonutread? They have been continuing coverage of fanfiction and other bad media since we retired, and this movie would have turned Matt inside out from it's jank. Go check em out!

As of May of 2022, the Steel Donut is done recording new riffs indefinitely. We had a really great run, and we're incredibly proud of the videos we made. We're all still friends, and our channel's Discord server is staying up for the indefinite future. We'll still keep an eye on our email and comments, so feel free to reach out. Thanks for all the support over the years.
While we were active, we riffed on terrible media including (but not limited to) horrendous fanfiction, tutorials, movies, and articles.
