hey y'all, I kind of changed my channel's name. counterpointenthusiast was always a stand in for when I find a pseudonym I liked, because I just wanted to start putting my stuff our there! I recently started mulling it over in my head once more and decided on 'naphta', as that name has a personal connection and ive always liked it a lot. So here we are, new channel name :)

Exactly one year ago I posted my first video to this channel, 'three simple fughettas'.
57 videos and much work and love put into composition, performance and this channel later, I would like to celebrate a bit by going back to the roots. 2 little fugue exercises, just like what this channel started with.
To another year of music and thank you all so much for watching! It means a lot to be able to share my art with so many people and I appreciate each and every one taking their time to take it in.

First community post, wohoo!!
Thanks everyone so much for 500 subscribers! It's really incredible actually imagining that number of people in real life. It's been a great experience so far, with a lot of positive and constructive feedback, discourse and discussion. Posting on this channel has been a big motivator for me to finish pieces, and hold myself accountable to deliver art I am proud of :)
Looking forward to share much more of my music, and equally as much to discovering many other amateur composers like me and their wonderful art on here!!
