Lord Caitanya has enjoined that the Krishna consciousness movement be
spread to every town and village throughout the world. And “spread” means to
spread in terms of the afore-mentioned purpose for which the movement is
actually meant – to raise people to the path of spontaneous loving devotion,
principally by way of congregational chanting of the Holy Name – thus giving
them the chance to evolve to the stages of raganuga-bhava and vraja-prema
in this lifetime, not after some future millions of births, who knows how far
down the road. Mahaprabhu’s purposes will certainly be fulfilled in some way
or other by someone; do not think otherwise. It’s just a question of who gets
the credit.

Pure devotional service must be freed from all desires for sense gratification, fruitive aspirations and culture of monistic knowledge. One must be freed from all kinds of designations, and when one is thus converted to transcendental purity, one can then serve the Lord by purified senses.
As long as there is the desire to enjoy sensually or to become one with the Supreme or to possess the mystic powers, there is no question of attaining the stage of pure devotional service.

Krsna-Balaram Mandir 24 Hour Kirtan Mandal was inaugurated and is sustained by the express will of ISKCON’s founder-acarya, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. It functions to help generate a pure, spiritually surcharged atmosphere conducive to the advancement of pure devotional life.
It commenced in Kartika’s eve on Vijaya Dasami 1986, by the determined efforts of His Grace Sriman Aindra prabhu, a disciple of Srila Prabhupada, with the assistance and support of a few other soft-hearted devotees. Aindra prabhu, recognizing the common sense in organizing a core group of kirtana enthusiast to ensure its continuance, reconstituted ISKCON Vrndavana’s 24 hour kirtana as a distinguished department of service.
