ALICANTE HALF MARATHON 2025 š„ 13TH PLACE (3RD V35) in 74:58 OFFICIAL!!
Couldnāt have run a better race if Iād tried 100 times over, I am over the moon with that! On paper, not a PBā¦ when we arrived I was confident of oneā¦ after my first run I thought Iād struggle to go sub 76/77 with the warmer weatherā¦ today I just finished the wrong side of 75 on a tough and challenging course š„µ
Stuck to the planā¦ took the first climb controlled then committed coming down the other sideā¦ my only let down is I couldnāt capitalise on the 4K downhill finish because I was cooked š„µ I got the first half out the way (with the most climbing) and then hit the second half and attacked each hill as hard as I could š
Never felt so strong in warm conditions and Iām beyond grateful for my families support out there on the course ā¤ļø
Wonderful redemption from last years failed Barcelona half trip š¤©

ANNUAL LEAVE š“ a few things I could say, but Iāll keep it short and sweetā¦ 9 days before Abingdon I told my wife we should get away and have a holidayā¦ mentally I knew I needed to switch off after this block and have my usual week off running post marathon, but I wanted to get away from home and dedicate some time to the familyā¦ they gave up so much for me during the last 12 weeksā¦. In reality itās not much different from normal training but the time spent editing on the weekend means they see less of me, and the guilt was racking up!
So Iām taking my first week off YouTube in god knows how long, but Iāll be back next Sunday with the race recap video! In the mean time i am switching off, having some fun and doing everything I havenāt done for the last 12 weeks š see you all on Sunday š¤
