At the first Nagasaki Catholic Peace Forum, we stood united with fellow Catholic organizations to renew our commitment to a world without nuclear weapons. Held on the 79th anniversary of the tragic atomic bombings, this gathering was a powerful reminder of the importance of peace and collaboration.
Leaders and participants from Korea, Japan, and the United States came together to share ideas and strategies for promoting peace. The Nagasaki Appeal for Peace, introduced at the forum, calls for stronger unity among Catholic peace organizations and youth. This appeal will be presented to Pope Francis during the Private Audience of IMCS-MIEC Pax Romana, marking a significant step in our journey toward a more peaceful world.
Special thanks to organizers: Pax Christi Korea, Pax Christi International Pax Christi USA, the International Movement of Catholic Students (IMCS/MIEC) Pax Romana, and the International Youth Training Centre (IYTC). Together, we are making strides toward a nuclear-free future.
