My health is under control 😌 and I'm slowly ramping up pre-production of new videos. One video will be about video restoration, and the rest will be related to vintage computing.
For those who are interested in vintage computing: What was the first computing platform you ever used?

Having been a computer nerd for 40 years, I never gave any thought to regular exercise -- as long as I'm not in pain, things are copacetic, right? I now know that is incorrect; regular exercise is important to maintain quality of life as we get older. But now I'm concerned for everyone else in the vintage computing and retrogaming community: How much dedicated time do you set aside for exercise?

Indebted to everyone who finds my content useful, entertaining, or both. You have my gratitude.
I have some channel news to share, which I'll do soon as a livestream, and then post an edited version to the channel. This should happen in the next few days.

I've been having a lot of Real Life(tm) issues since making part one of the PCjr series that have unfortunately shut down any YouTube activity since the beginning of January, which is when I'd intended to start production back up and finish the series. I have no ETA on when the next part will be released; sorry. It takes between 2-3 weekends for every 10 minutes of finished footage (scripting, narration, setting up the stage/camera/lights/slider, locating items, shooting footage of items, editing, mastering) and I'm expecting the next part to be between 10-20 minutes long. So, there's the math for you, assuming I'm able to start next weekend. I'm sorry, but it can't be helped, I'm afraid.

New video series starts November 1st! That date is a special anniversary of the topic of the series; see if you can guess what it is before the first part goes live on Wednesday :-)

Thanks to all my subscribers and patrons for this milestone. Also recently hit 16K subscribers; not too shabby for a channel that only posts 2-3 videos a year. (Speaking of which, I have two more planned before the year is out; one is a behind-the-scenes involving videography, and the other is so long it will be broken up into parts... so stay tuned!)

Did you know I'm one of the showrunners of Vintage Computer Festival Midwest? And that our show is next Saturday the 9th through Sunday the 10th, is completely free to attend, and is always a fun time?

For years, I've had this dream of making vintage computer content for my commercial YouTube channel, as I am a subject matter expert in a few areas, and I enjoy it. But I can't ignore the fact that my vintage computer videos average 2k views total, whereas my video archiving tutorials gain 50k views *every month*. Should I give up on my dream, and only make popular videos from now on?

For my subscribers who only care about new VHS transfer videos, you'll be happy to know that the long-promised update to that video is now in production. I've purchased 4 modern USB video transfer devices and will be testing them to see which work properly, then will make the video. Should be up in a few weeks.
Because my channel is *supposed* to be about vintage personal computing, I've picked an appropriate source to use as test material, which I am hoping my non-video subscribers will find hilarious.

The Oldskool PC focuses on the first decade of personal computing and gaming with the IBM PC and compatibles. We cover old PC history, software collecting, vintage gaming, and who knows what all else. Nearly everything is demonstrated with real vintage hardware, no emulators.
