Profiled by The Washington Post and praised for his “dazzlingly prodigious technique,” “intense commitment” and “rich imagination,” pianist and composer Haskell Small’s illustrious career has spanned the repertoire and the globe. After suffering a stroke in February 2021, Mr. Small has resumed concertizing with live and virtual performances of music he's arranged for the right hand alone by great classical masters, as well as his own composition "Diary of a Stroke: The Adventures of Herb and Pete". As his rehabilitation progresses, he will present a multi-part series of concerts, A Celebration of Healing, adding works for both hands during the 2022-23 concert season, leading to his dream of performing Beethoven's Diabelli Variations in the 2023-24 season to celebrate his complete recovery.
