Dr. Kallol Guha was the fourth born among 8 siblings in undivided India. He spent the first twenty-two years of his life in the burgeoning metropolis of Kolkata located in the Eastern part of India. It was in this city, while pursuing his undergraduate degree, that he met his wife at the age of 22. His passion for knowledge, and spirit of exploration led him to embark upon a remarkable journey which changed his life forever.

Through his hard work and grit, he enrolled himself at the prestigious University of Copenhagen. He completed his PhD from there and then continued to get a DSc from Kuopio University (Now named University of Eastern Finland) in Finland. He embarked on a career in teaching European and American universities for over two decades.

In 1999 Dr. Guha Founded the Saint James School of Medicine (www.sjsm.org), where quality education is imparted at a fraction of the usual cost. Today, Saint James is one of the leading Caribbean Medical Schools in the world.
