Fehd Benchemsi is a Moroccan artist who explores and reinvents the Gnawa tradition, a music with deep roots, born from the crossbreeding of sub-Saharan African and Moroccan cultures. Armed with his Guembri, he was enriched by varied influences during his stay in Los Angeles, where he collaborated with jazz and gospel artists to create a unique style, mixing the sensibilities of the West and North Africa. Upon his return to Morocco, he founded the group Fehd Benchemsi & The Lallas, surrounded by two musicians, one Mauritian and the other English, to revisit Gnawa music with a contemporary approach that continues to captivate the public.
