So evidently, the doc says it looks like I might have had a minor jaw dislocation. This seems to stack into the whole "it'll just take time" thing, as he didn't feel the need to readjust anything, but gave me more meds and said it might take 2 to 3 weeks to heal. Oh so fun ~_~;

Just to update on how recovery is going, it's progressing more smoothly and faster than I had expected. Things are still a bit on the tender side, like if pressure gets put against those areas, so unfortunately the headset is still not a great idea for the moment, but things are starting to feel a lot better, and I'm slowly getting back to my usual eating habits and such. Essentially after calling the doctor to see what I need to do now, they said that was basically it, just slowly work toward getting back to my normal diet, and my gums will toughen back up and we'll be good. Major things like the "bleeding" portion of the recovery and my stitches dissolving seem to be out of the way now, as well as being done with the meds they gave me like the antibiotics and such. So hopefully things will settle back to normalcy soon.

The durgon is alive and well, and minus four fangs. I was fully sedated for the procedure (dude said I'd be fast asleep in 30 seconds and he wasn't kidding), but apparently I didn't have any embarrassing moments of incoherent babbling, so hey, good for me. I am of course very sore currently as would be expected, so I'm going to be pretty inactive on social media for the next few days while going through it.
313 - 41
So trying to keep things updated, we're still working on bringing down my blood sugar. For the procedure, it needs to be in the range of 80 to 140. Mine is currently hovering around the 180 to 200 range, so still high, but definitely better than the previous spikes I was having.
163 - 17
So once again, things have hit a snag. Because things aren't complicated enough. They refused to do the surgery because my blood sugar was too high. I've been trying to bring that down for the appointment, but nothing seems to work. So we have to reschedule. Fun times.
162 - 14
So tried the new meds last night. It's not quite the knock-out-get-some-sleep punch I was hoping for, but it definitely has an effect. It took a bit to really hit me, but then I experienced like, fatigue waves that I could tell weren't "normal," so it was doing SOMETHING. It didn't entirely get rid of the pain, but at least dulled it enough that I could finally sleep for a bit. It's enough that I should be able to make it through the week, and my extraction appointment is set for Monday morning.
146 - 11
So, news from the tooth mine. We still have to set a date for the actual procedure. I'm going to see how the new pain meds they gave me work out, and if they work well, we're shooting for next Monday simply because it's the most convenient date for my uncle to take me. Gunshop is closed on Mondays and all. Beyond that? I'm taking the four hit combo. I'm getting all four wisdom teeth out at once, which on one hand, ow, recovery's going to suck, but at least I'll never have to worry about wisdom teeth betrayal again.
162 - 33
Okay, so next phase of this whole thing, I have an appointment with an oral surgeon at 3:30 this coming Monday. Sounds like it's still just going to be an "initial consultation" rather than actually getting it done, so yep.
110 - 10
So apparently we have a "one hand doesn't know what the other is doing" situation. The dentists specifically recommended one particular oral surgeon to us because they were the only ones in the area that took insurance. My uncle called them today. They don't. Yay.
119 - 16
So, verified, it's definitely a wisdom tooth. It's actually pressing against the nerve of my jaw, hence the pain. Unfortunately, also means they couldn't really do anything about it, I have to go to an actual oral surgeon. My uncle's going to be trying to get me in this week, though unfortunately, we're also having to work around whatever Tropical Storm / Hurricane Francine's going to be doing, so... fun. I have some painkillers, but they're unfortunately pretty mid. Hopefully they at least take enough of the edge of the pain off so I can actually SLEEP, that would be nice o.o;; Further updates as available for going in to actually get the blasted thing removed.
