Asura is Charles Farewell, born in 1975 and based in Lyon, France.

Since 1996, the project Asura has polished a personal epic and electronic sound, between Psybient, Ambient and World music.

Originally a duo, composed by Vincent Villuis, then a trio, when Christopher Maze joined the band in 1998, they have created a very distinctive sound, with their first album, CODE ETERNITY (2000), which contributed to making Asura one of the most recognizable bands of Psybient and Ambient.

In 2001, Vincent Villuis left the band to concentrate on his new project, AES Dana, and was replaced by Alex Ackerman.

The second ASURA album, LOST EDEN, was released in 2003.

Since July 2005, after the departure of Christopher Maze and Alex Ackerman, Asura became a solo project. exclusively composed of Charles Farewell.

He released since then 4 solo albums: LIFE² in 2007, 360 in 2010, RADIO UNIVERSE, in 2014, all on Ultimae Records.

And, finally, RENAISSANCE came out in july 2023, on NLE Records.
