HO HO HO!!!
Holiday 2024 Expeditions Update!
#nomanssky #update #expeditions
November 27, 2024

Redux is here! Which one are you looking forward to?

The following is direct information from: www.nomanssky.com/2024/11/holiday-2024-expeditions…

Hello Everyone!

2024 has been another impactful year for No Man’s Sky, with the team pouring so much love into every update. OMEGA, ORBITAL, WORLDS PART I and AQUARIUS added breadth and depth to so many areas of the universe - from a complete overhaul of the expedition system, starship customisation, elaborate new space stations, new planetary biomes, incredible rendering improvements to water and clouds, and so much more. A few weeks ago, we even introduced cross-save between our huge number of supported platforms, a massive technical undertaking.

This year has also seen no fewer than five(!) community expeditions, bringing Travellers together in a certain corner of the universe to experience a themed event and work together to complete unique challenges and earn limited-time exclusive rewards.

We know that our players have busy lives, and know more than most that there are other games to play. That’s why, for the last couple of years, it has become customary for the No Man’s Sky team to re-run the expeditions from that year over the holiday period when leisure time is more plentiful, and in a “reduxed” form such that they can be completed and rewards unlocked with relative ease.

We will be re-running this year’s expeditions over two-week intervals from Thanksgiving weekend through December and January.

Omega: 27th Nov - 11th Dec Answer the call of the universe in the Omega expedition. Explore, build, fight, and more through a diverse set of milestones, and unpick the threads of a mystery involving the past, the present, and what could be.

Adrift: 11th Dec - 25th Dec Alone in an empty universe, the Adrift Expedition redefines what it means to survive among the stars. Communications from other Travellers are consumed by static, and in a reality devoid of other lifeforms, there are no shops, no trading, no shortcuts and no help, providing a very different survival experience.

Liquidators: 25th Dec - 8th Jan Engage in a galactic bug hunt in this high-paced combat expedition, full of custom-balanced swarm combat. A vile brood is spreading corruption across the universe – join the Liquidator Vanguard to do your part and purge the rot from the stars!

Aquarius: 8th Jan - 22nd Jan Go on a quest across the galaxy to catch fish, gather stories, and think about the one that got away. Find your perfect waterside spot and cast off, or venture into the ocean on your deployable Exo-Skiff. Craft specialist bait, establish a fish farm, cook seafood, and more.

The Cursed: 22nd Jan - 5th Feb Fight to keep a grip on reality while haunted by visions and voices from another dimension. In this twilight realm, straddling the boundary between one reality and the next, there is no access to hyperdrive technology, and interstellar travel can only take place via the ancient portal network. Who do the haunting voices belong to, where are they coming from, and are they to be trusted?
These re-runs present another opportunity not only to experience these community events, but also to earn any missed rewards! Rewards for the 2024 expeditions include exclusive sets of Atlas, deep sea, and bug-themed customisations, the Iron Vulture, Starborn Runner, and Boundary Herald starships, a ghostly frigate, and so much more!

No Man's SKy Worlds Part 1 - AQUARIUS .. Fishing!

5.10 Patch Notes

Players can now install a Fishing Rig in their Multi-Tool, enabling them to cast their line into any body of water and begin fishing. Purchase Fishing Rig blueprints aboard the Space Anomaly.
Over 160 varieties of fish are available to catch. Finding each fish will require exploration of different planets, fishing at different times of day and during different weather conditions, and trawling across a wide range of depths.
Your catch history, including weight records, is recorded in the new Fishing section of the Wonders catalogue.

Craft specialist bait and apply it to your Fishing Rig to lure in specific fish.
In addition, any edible item can be deployed as bait. Experiment with different cooked products to find the most effective bait for your fishing feeds.
A large range of new seafood recipes have been added for the Nutrient Processor.
Those who do not wish to consume or sell their catch may release their fish back into the water.

Occasionally, inanimate objects may be retrieved from the water instead of fish. Such objects include procedurally generated messages in bottles and water-damaged technology upgrades.

Automated Traps are available to research in the Space Anomaly. These self-sustaining units are an alternative to manual angling, and will attract fish as appropriate for the water conditions in which they are placed.

The Exo-Skiff is a new piece of deployable technology, summoned from the Quick Menu after its interface is installed in the Exosuit. Research the appropriate blueprints aboard the Space Anomaly.
The Exo-Skiff hovers just above the surface of the water and reacts to wave movement to create the perfect deep-sea fishing platform for those looking for deep-water fish.
The skiff comes with a dedicated Cold Storage inventory, allowing players to conveniently store their catches.
The Exo-Skiff can be recoloured via its own internal customisation interface.

Fishing is fully compatible with first and third person play, and has unique casting mechanics for VR players.
New music tracks have been added to accompany the fishing experience.
Expedition Fifteen, Aquarius, will begin shortly and run for approximately six weeks.
Rewards include new posters, decals and titles; a deep-sea diving suit customisation set; the unique Lost Angler’s Rig fishing rod; and the exclusive Aquarius Flightpack.

Water reflections are now enabled for PSVR2.
PCVR now supports reflections on the water while running with reflections set to Ultra.
Fixed an issue that could make it difficult to interact with some space station objects while in VR.

The jetpack effects used while underwater have been improved.
Fixed a number of rendering artefacts related to water.
Fixed a number of issues that could allow ships to spawn with the wrong landing-gear state.
Fixed a visual issue with icons when switching pages in the Catalogue.
Fixed a minor visual issue with the Liquidator mech.

Fixed a rare issue that could cause items to be transferred to a deprecated inventory when Quick Transferring to a full Exosuit inventory.
Fixed an issue that could cause mineable objects to incorrectly display a STEEL label.
Fixed an issue that prevented the Left / Right Handedness option from being immediately applied to the third person camera.
Allowed the Multi-Tool to remain unholstered when in Photo Mode in a multiplayer game.
Removed the deprecated Shutter Door base part from the Catalogue.

Fixed a number of water rendering issues with some specific base parts.
Fixed a number of water-smearing issues when playing in VR.
Fixed an Xbox-specific texture rendering issue.

Descendants!

Here are the details about the patch for The First Descendant Hotfix 1.0.4, applied maintenance-free on Wednesday, 7/24.

■ Patch Date
- PDT 2024.07.24(Wed) 02:40

■ Platforms
- Steam, XBOX SERIES X│S, XBOX ONE, PS4, PS5

■ Patch Details
Content Improvements
- Module storage limit has been increased from 1000 to 1500.
- Cooldown for " Vulgus Strategic Outpost" has been reduced from 5 minutes to 1 minute.
- Spawning time between monster respawn has been increased, and the reward amount has been adjusted at the " Vulgus Strategic Outpost".
- Void Fragments will now drop when defeating monsters in Special Operation. There will be the most void fragment drops at the Special Operation "Neutralize Void Experiment."
- Using "Mark for Arrest" item obtained from Special Operation will grant ten times the usual amount of gold. When "Mark for Arrest" is used from ‘consumable’ tab, it will convert to 100,000 gold, and "High-Value Mark for Arrest" will convert to 1,000,000 gold.

# Director's Comment
With this adjustment, the reward amount at Fortress outpost has been reduced. However, to ensure that "Valby run" remains a popular hunting ground like Ambush Point and Refined Run, we have set the reward efficiency significantly higher than originally intended. We hope to provide numerous farming spots in The First Descendant, each with unique characteristics and usefulness to different Descendants. Instead of reverting Valby run to its original design intent, we have adjusted it to offer similar efficiency to other high-reward hunting grounds.

Additionally, we have shortened the cooldowns for all outposts so that players can play them more frequently without deliberately failing and no longer need to search for outposts with shorter cooldowns by moving around the map. We have also added gold rewards to Special Operations and adjusted 4 types of Void Fragments to be randomly dropped, allowing players to choose and utilize various hunting grounds.

Through issues like the Fortress Outskirts and Valby run, we are learning what kind of play style our players enjoy. The experience of sweeping through and farming monsters is of significant value in our game.

Your feedback and interest are what drive the continuous improvement of The First Descendant. We will always listen to your feedback and improve the game.

■ Week 5 Update Preview
Greetings, this is The First Descendant Director Joo Min-seok.
Along with the patch notes, we have prepared information about next week's update. Please look forward to it!

Sea of Emerald, "Ultimate Valby"
Finally, the Magisters have completed the ultimate project for Valby. This ultimate equipment, called "Sea of Emerald," has fulfilled Valby's long-held desire. It is a nano suit that replicates Valby’s former body color and texture. Although covered in a thin layer, Valby feels like regaining a long-forgotten part of herself.

Ultimate Valby’s Modification Modules
- Spiral Tidal Wave: Replaces the Bubble Bullet, which was difficult to aim, with a projectile that flies straight. Spiral Tidal Wave attracts the impurities of Gluttony, making it an excellent choice for intercepting Gluttony.
- Hydro Pressure Bomb: Instead of "Plop Plop," it leaps forward and deals damage to enemies around the landing area. The more enemies in the laundry state, the more powerful the damage, making Hydro Pressure Bomb a strong finishing blow. Instead of diving into the water, leap joyfully forward!

A New Descendant, "Luna"
The Mad Artist Luna has returned to Albion after a long wandering performance. Luna's synthesizer gun becomes more powerful when fired in rhythm, enhancing allies' abilities based on the performance. When Luna dances to upbeat music, allies' skill power increases, and when dancing to relaxing music, allies' mentality recovers and resource consumption decreases. Invite everyone to Luna's concert. Unfortunately for Virgus, it will be their last stage, but Luna's performance is just beginning!

Luna’s Modification Modules
- Nimble Footsteps: Enhances Luna's mobility and amplifies the effect range of her performance, allowing for more effective ally support.
- Noise Surge: Transforms Luna from a supporter to a combat dealer. Dashes towards enemies in rhythm, dealing damage to nearby enemies. When the inspiration gauge is full, summons a stage to recover mental strength and shields. Provide enemies with a terrifying musical experience with Noise Surge!

Gluttony
The mutated Devourer-type Gluttony is a giant that indulges in Void Energy. It is equipped with systems to mine Void Energy and a cooling system to cool the heat generated during this process. To counter Gluttony, you need measures to withstand its cooling performance and the judgment to exploit its greedy temperament. Intercept Gluttony and collect new ultimate weapons and external components.

New Ultimate Weapon "Peace Mediator"
When meditation is necessary to bring peace to Ingris, the new ultimate weapon Peace Mediator is the perfect solution. This powerful hand cannon is effective even with single shots but can unleash a burst of bullets to deliver powerful firepower under the right conditions.

New Ultimate Module "Arche Concretion"
Provides Arche Concretion effect, which increases defense and mentality when using skills but decreases movement speed and attack power. It is particularly useful for Luna and Ajax and can be a good choice for players who want stable skill use. Your choices are free; combine various Modules to create your unique build.

Balance Adjustments
In the week 5 update, we have decided to make balance adjustments for some Descendants and Ultimate weapons.

First, we are adjusting Valby, Blair, and Freyna, who use AOE as their main skills. We hope to see these Descendants more effectively dominate the battlefield, creating large AOE zones and leisurely watching enemies fall from the rear. Look forward to improved performance for these wide-range covering Descendants.

Additionally, there will be improvements to Ultimate weapons that enhance critical hit chance and damage. Enduring Legacy (machine gun), Secret Garden (tactical rifle), and Nazeistra's Devotion (hand cannon) will be improved to boast more powerful firepower with critical settings.

Moreover, Greg's Reversed Fate (tactical rifle) will be adjusted to activate its unique effect in more chances. We are also improving the functionality of single-shot weapons, allowing players to choose between single-shot and rapid-fire modes. Please look forward to it.

Lastly,
There will also be more improvements for convenience to be included in the week 5 update. Plus, new cosmetics that many players have been waiting for will be out, so please wait just one more week!
