His recent works for symphonic band, North and Summer Air, draw inspiration from the likes of a variety of composers such as Gustav Holst and John Williams, while adding in a lot of his own artistic style and nature-based influences. In 2019, Joe was a state finalist in the NJMEA Young Composers Competition for his piece Soar!, an uplifting symphonic band piece that tells the story of a young hawk learning how to fly.
He is currently studying with Dr. Melissa Dunphy at Mason Gross School of the Arts. In his time there, he has written several pieces, including two art songs, Love and Loss. for tenor, and To Write a Song for baritone.
