Two more Ub Iwerks Disney cartoons (before his 10-year breakaway from Disney) remain under copyright: Summer and Autumn (1930 releases).

Come 2026, I sense another Ub Iwerks collection from Thunderbean!

As horrible timing as these cuts are considering this past election, people need to remember that this IS the same company that blamed one kiss for Lightyear bombing and making the company .005% less rich. And that's before getting into their squeamishness towards portraying their 'first' gay moments for years prior to that on the big screen.

In this particular case, waiting four years for a Democrat to become president again isn't going to help Disney creatively (although I wouldn't mind getting frozen cryogenically until Trump's out of office again for all other reasons). A complete change in exectutive leadership is what's needed at this point, one who stops catering their movies/shows to people who were never going to watch them.

Hundreds of Beavers put this ongoing development well.

In a way, Netflix's mindset (not a particularly new one in the industry) more or less renders animation useless, because projects that follow this to a tee (often coming with major executive-influence) tend to have the character designs as uniformly generic as possible with a very limited range of expressed emotions.

Sure, the writing may still be good in said projects, great even, but that's not taking advantage of animation as a medium.

14 likes is decent, until you realize 6 of them come from porn bots....I wonder if they're hoping I cover Eveready Harton (look up at your own discretion by the way)?

Happy almost Christmas folks!! Say, remember when Totally Tooned In completely cut the ending to The Little Match Girl, ultimately turning this into a story about a little girl who lit a match that sent her to another dimension and expresses thankfulness to some random flying angel in the end?

Something to spread the holiday cheer this year, the REAL ending to It's a Wonderful Life!!

EDIT: Still dislike SNL, but their hit to miss ratio is 1:200, this is one of the few hits needless to say.

An excerpt from Neal Gabler's book. With this type of reaction to Disney's cartoons, it's no wonder the MGM cartoons before Tom & Jerry and Tex Avery were largely such borefests.

Good luck making something even a fraction as cartoony as this in modern Simpsons.
