Summary of books 📖
#9 - This was the first parenting book I ever purchased back in 2018 when our first was just a few months old, and it’ll help parents who seek an alternative to coercing their children into compliance -
@peacefulparenthappykids
#8 - This book provides you with awareness and to help you understand how your child might be feeling when they jump into your bed at 3 am. The gentle and realistic approach discussed in this book is one of the main reasons why I love Lyndsey’s work - @lyndsey_hookway
#7 - Essentially a guide that explores why they’re continually voted one of the happiest countries in the world. It provides advice on how to encourage free play, nurture empathy, focus teamwork over power struggles and celebrate togetherness - @jessicajoellealexander @thedanishway
#6 - Alfie Kohn dives deep into both punishments and rewards in this one, and it’s truly game-changing. Whether you wholeheartedly agree with Alfie’s viewpoint or not, this will be one of the most important parenting books you read.
#5 - This book is about attachment and focuses on how peers can replace parents in the lives of their little on. The combination of Dr. Gordon Neufeld and Dr. Gabor Maté is powerful in this one - @gabormatemd
#4 - Dr. Margot Sunderland focuses on brain science and how research can aid your parenting and help you nurture your child’s physical, emotional, and psychological well-being.
#3 - Dr. Tina Bryson and Dr. Dan Siegel offer twelve strategies to raise calmer, happier children, explore how to use both the logical and emotional sides of your brain to make balanced choices, and focus on how to get “unstuck” and be more flexible with your thoughts @drdansiegel @tinapaynebryson
#2 - If you want respectful tips and you’re struggling to cope with fighting, meltdowns, whining and constant defiance, then don’t think twice about reading this book - @howtotalk.forparents
#1 - Dr. Becky does an amazing job in helping us reframe bad behaviour, by getting us to see our child as a good kid having a hard time @drbeckyatgoodinside

Recently, I came across an intriguing piece of information that struck a chord deep within me.
Flamingos, those graceful birds, undergo a remarkable transformation while raising their precious young ones. Surprisingly, they temporarily lose their iconic pink hue during this intense journey. This revelation made me reflect on the challenges of motherhood and how, at times, we may feel like we've temporarily lost our true selves. However, just like those resilient flamingos, we too can reclaim our vibrant essence. So, to all the incredible mothers out there, remember that in due time, we'll rediscover our unique hues and regain our radiant glow.
