Howzit! It's been a while, but I've recently opened up a RedBubble store for the channel. I've been working with the amazing Diolauc to make some designs; these are just a few of what we have currently, but more are always coming! If you would like to support the channel, buying merch really means a lot, and looks pretty good too!

Here's a link to the store: www.redbubble.com/people/SemioticOnion/shop?asc=u

If you have any ideas for something you'd like to see in the store, please feel free to reach out. If you want to commission some portraits of your own, you can contact Diolauc with diolaucart@gmail.com.

Howzit, I just wanted to let everyone know that I have taken down my videos on the 'Prolegomena to a Theory of Language' by Louis Hjelmslev. My understanding of glossematics has changed quite drastically since I made the series, and I am not really too comfortable leaving them up when they might contain some major inaccuracies. I am hoping to go over the book again though -- this time should be much better!

Howzit, if you would like to support the channel, I've just opened a Patreon. Even if you aren't interested in the paid aspects, I'll be posting some of my other work (including translations) there. Here's the link: www.patreon.com/Schizoanalytic0nion

Howzit, I just want to share some news that I'm very excited about. I've recently gotten permission from Emmanuelle Guattari to try to publish a translated collection of Guattari's seminars. I'm going to try continue with videos, but this is why I've only been posting quite irregularly this past while. The working title is 'A Field of Fuzzy Possibles' and -- if all goes well -- it might be out as a physical book around this time next year!

Howzit, I just wanted to give a bit of an update on the channel and share a new sprite I got made. The episodes on the virtual/actual and Guattari's views on time are taking a bit longer than expected, but I'm hoping to finish another Paper of the Month video soon. It's about Arjen Kleinherenbrink's 'Territory and Ritornello' and deals with how Deleuze and Guattari think about thinking, living beings.

When it comes to the sprite, here's one I got of Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz on Fiverr that I was really excited for. This isn't at all sponsored in any way, but I think it turned out amazingly. If anyone's in need of similar artwork, here's a link: www.fiverr.com/diolaucnivicius/do-portraits-like-s…

Howzit!

This channel has just recently turned one year old, so I wanted to thank everyone who's been watching! I'm currently working on a couple of longer videos that (hopefully) will be ready in a couple weeks. In particular, I'm planning one on Guattari's approach to time and the four functors, along with another exploring Deleuze's understanding of the virtual and actual. For anyone interested in the statistics behind the channel, I've apparently now spent a bit over 632 hours, 37 minutes, and 43 seconds making these videos -- it's been quite amazing getting to this point.

Today is the 95th anniversary of Alfred North Whitehead's Gifford Lectures, which would later become 'Process and Reality'. To celebrate, next week I'll be doing a special series on his work, along with that of Henri Bergson and Gilles Deleuze. In particular, there will be episodes on the first three lectures from Whitehead's 'Modes of Thought'; Bergson's 'An Introduction to Metaphysics' and 'The Possible and the Real'; and Deleuze's 'Bergsonism'. I hope you enjoy!

Sorry I haven't released an episode in a while, I'm currently recovering from a minor dental surgery. In the meanwhile, though, I've written a couple scripts I should be able to release around next week. Here's the cover for the next video.

I got some more sprites for Achille Mbembe, Melanie Klein, and Henri Bergson, and I hope to start making some videos about them soon (maybe one about 'Notes on Some Schizoid Mechanisms'?). This isn't an advert or anything like that, but if you want to get similar art to these, I bought them from Diolaucnivicius on Fiverr -- they're fantastic to work with and make amazing art.

I was thinking about making another concept-focused video, although it may take a while before I release it. Which of these sound the most interesting? To give some context:

Strata: Developed by Deleuze and Guattari in ‘A Thousand Plateaus’, these essentially act as a spatiotemporalised response to the structures of structuralism. A video based around them would include discussions of the molecular, molar, double articulation, and how D&G use Hjelmslev’s content-expression division.

Gender and Melancholia: This comes from Judith Butler, who sees gender as at least partially related to the way in which the ego incorporates objects that it prohibits itself from desiring. This video would focus on the theory of gender performativity, the Oedipus complex, the psychoanalytic structure of melancholia, and object-relations.

Ritournelles: Another Deleuzoguattarian concept, ritournelles (or refrains) refer to those things that organise the creation of territories out of chaos. The main concepts that would be discussed in such a video would be milieux, rhythm, territorialisation, and lines of flight.

Axiomatisation: First introduced by D&G in ‘Anti-Oedipus’, axiomatisation refers to the specific way in which the capitalist socius functions by continually extending its limits further and further. This video would probably connect with the work of other thinkers, like Max Weber and Georg Lukács, along with exploring stratification, socii, and code.
