I came across this old pickaxe āļø a couple of years ago now on a sniping trip. It was buried in river gravels that I was trying to work through to get down to bedrock.
The crazy thing is right underneath it was a quartz stringer loaded with little gold nuggets. Itās one of my most memorable trips along side my good mate @rob_parsons1 who was there to witness the experience. The video of this trip can be found here https://youtu.be/-n_AIzR_CUA?si=HtCTi...
I didnāt collect it at the time as I was so wrapped up in the excitement of the gold.
On a return trip I couldnāt find it again, floods had pushed it away but recently with a little help from the metal detector we were able to reunite. Iām hoping the old gold dagger might have a little life left in her for some upcoming videos maybe I can even find a little more gold with it. I donāt usually take old relics out but this one was to special and maybe Iāll just borrow it for a while then return it one day.

A unique little 1.25g piece I found a couple of days ago. It was not far from home which was exciting as I usually have to travel 2-3hrs drive before the hike in even begins.
Also a big high five to all those that jumped in on my latest video release Iām stoked with the result and response you guys have given it being a longer video at 55minutes. Hope your all doing well itās a busy time right now leading up to Christmas and I hope we all have a good break and holidayšseason.

Ok so Iād LOVE to hear your thoughts on this and what type of content do you guys enjoy? sometimes itās hard to gauge what you guys like.
Over the next few weeks Iāll be posting a long version of each adventure and a short version of the same trip. The times will vary greatly week to week but my next adventure is a big one run time will be around 55minutes.
The idea behind this is that not everyone has the time to sit for 55minutes but for those that like to kick back to a hot drink and settle down it still gives them that option. Each video will be uniquely tailored to its audience the longer version will feature a lot of natural sound and raw experience, perhaps softer music, along with more educational focus on the prospecting and the techniques used. The short version will be more entertainment focused, trip highlights quicker music and straight to the point narrative.
This will also hopefully give the channel a bit more of a boost with more frequent uploading and each film will get a second chance to viewed by a wider audience. If it doesnāt work out weāll go back regular viewing. Iād LOVE to hear your thoughts on this please drop them below.

Finding blue Tasmanian sapphires in the rugged wilderness of Tasmania's old tin mining country, two friends Levi and Des, set out on a two day adventure to search for sapphires and precious gemstones. Levi a modern day prospector will be using the sniping technique to see if he can revolutionise the way Sapphires are found, while Des will be using more traditional methods using sieve to sift through the gravel and rock. Des has years of experience fossicking for gemstones while Levi is a rookie and relatively new to searching for gems.
Let's see who comes out victorious and what can we learn about these two prospecting methods.

After finding some extremely crystalline gold in the river my attention has turned to the hard rock mining āļø very small scale by just testing some of the ore with a recently purchased dolly pot. My latest video I find this coarse gold in the quartz stringers of the river bed leading me to the possibility that the gold could be coming from these stringers. All the signs are there the large plentiful amounts of gold in a short section of river along with rocky outcrops surrounding the banks with all the signs of the right geology. There has been a heap of comments on the video people suggesting the gold is coming from the bedrock itself so it confirms what I was already thinking. Iāve completed a mission out crushing with the dolly and have filmed it to bring to the channel hoping that we can all learn together as Iām extremely new to this type of prospecting would love to hear others thoughts on this and looking forward to some new ventures.

Iāve held onto a bit of secret for almost 12months now. Last night that secret was aired on the new Adventure Gold Diggers show on 7Mate.
About a year ago I was contacted by fredbirdentertainment about a new gold show they wanted me to be involved in. At the time I didnāt have anywhere with solid gold deposits as the good stuff drys up pretty quickly after a few weeks of work.
Anyhow I decided to go along with it regardless and chose my mate Rob to be involved aswell and signed a contract to shoot a few episodes for the show.
I decided to return to a river Iād worked only twice which had good gold but it was super hard work accessing the best gold coordinates.
We spent a few days of absolute gruelling work getting into the area and searching for a new deposit with the big stuff, the nuggets.
I was beginning to get super anxious that my worst initial fears of going on national telly and not finding much were gona become a reality.
We pushed on harder than I think weāve ever worked and low and behold the magic happened it was literally just before we were about to give up on the quest. Last few hours of the last day bam š„ I dug out a whopping nugget, not only was it big but it was a record for me my largest piece at the time a 13g.
It was a big reminder to persevere. It was the same scenario as our adventure finding Stannards Grave a few years ago which didnāt come about until the very last moment the last whisp of energy to make something happen. Iām super proud of both these adventures in my life and if you wanna see the show jump onto 7Mate and watch episodes 1 and 2. A big thanks to @Tim Noonan for the help on the camera work and squeezing a few tears out of me on episode 2, my second biggest fear on tv š

Iām alive and well guys sorry Iāve left you in the dark for the past few weeks. Long story short the balance got out of hand the past 8-9months has been a monumental work load. Iāve been filming videos and an upcoming tv show in this time and as you know all my adventures are pretty big with a fair bit of planning and execution, physically taxing on the body when executed. Iām a husband and father and the balance has been out Iāve seen a slightly negative impact on the family.
My boys need there dad more and we decided to take a break from it all. I will be back better and stronger and fully revived I already have some things filmed which I know youāll love. I appreciate all your love, support and kind comments from past adventures and Iāll see you all in the not to distant future.

G'day my name is Levi and I'm a prospector and adventurer of gold living in Tasmania, Australia. I've always loved the outdoors and grew up along rivers and streams in Tasmania, but it wasn't until I went fossicking for gemstones that my prospecting passion took flight. After this initial gem hunting trip I started researching gold in Tasmania and quickly learnt the techniques and methods to find gold. Once I found that first piece of alluvial gold the rest was history, I've had gold fever ever since and I'm extremely passionate about it.
