Thanks to everyone bringing up the issue of my videos being stolen/reuploaded on other channels.

To the people asking me to report those people: the only thing I can really do is submitting a copyright claim. Ultimately, the only thing I own in my videos are my subtitles and editing, and the majority of the content belongs to someone else (the VTubers).

I don't translate for personal gain and none of my videos are monetized, so honestly I don't lose anything important. Claiming videos full of content owned by the original VTubers themselves, on the other hand, is more likely to result in the Content ID system falsely flagging their original content as copyright infringing.

This is why I'm choosing to do nothing about it, as I always have. For the record, I believe that stealing the work of well-intentioned translators is something we generally call "a dick move." If you do come across videos you're sure aren't original work, just move on. Block the channel from showing up in your recommended videos or something if you're bothered by it. I'll make more translations. They probably won't. Life goes on.

Have a good day/night!

The most requested hololive moment, The Rise of Usada Construction, is now back up! We've taken some creative liberties with the editing, but the subtitles should be in real English now.

We're continuing to work through our backlog and everyone is throwing random short clips onto yamete kudasubs right now at a pretty steady pace. Take a look through the rest of the channel if you have some time to kill, and then stick around while we start working on the next remaster (probably Matsuri's Animal Crossing stock market shenanigans).

If you have any recommendations and archives of old hololive clips that you'd like to see, feel free to contact me or @YKudasubs on Twitter.

Last week, I put out a call asking people what old translated hololive clips they wanted to see now that the previous biggest hololive fansub channel has gone and cancelled itself.

After receiving over 100 suggestions, I decided that this wasn't something I could handle myself. So I reached out to a bunch of other hololive fansubbers who I trust, and we've started a group channel called yamete kudasubs to start tackling this. (youtube.com/channel/UChKhK5VrB_Ve6tqzp-OCNvQ/video…
There are currently over 10 trusted translators with access to this channel, all who speak English on a native level and have at least proficient Japanese skills. Most of us have our own YouTube channels that we will continue posting to, but we will be working through our long backlog here on YKS. Some of us will also be uploading short clips or stuff that wouldn't really belong on our own channels, but we just wanted to translate them somewhere.

Currently in the backog we have videos such as a remaster of the original Usada Construction TNT cannon incident, Matsuri's stalk market crash, and a bunch of other older videos that we're getting archives for currently.

I'd like to be clear that we're not trying to make this channel some sort of enhanced HLM. Many of us will continue to upload on our own channels, and we aren't enforcing any sort of quota or forcing people to upload here. But given the amount of people on here, I think we can probably expect a consistent flow of content. No promises about daily uploads or anything though.

What I can promise is the following few points that all of us are committing to:
- There will never be any monetization on this channel.
- We will not upload shit translations. All videos will pass through QC by translators uninvolved with the original translation.
- We value the VTubers over content creators such as ourselves. Who cares about recognition lol

Please feel free to drop more ideas for YKS or anything down below. Some of the other translators might make similar posts later.

Also, I'm not the leader of this or anything, I just happen to be in it. I have no idea who our leader is supposed to be 🤷

Now that a certain large hololive fansubs channel is gone I'm thinking about going back and retranslating some old popular videos that probably deserved better translations anyway. If there's any particular old clips you'd like to see please let me know and I'll see what I can do about it (if I have the archives).

EDIT: Thanks for the suggestions everyone. There's a lot of stuff to go through and I'll be talking to some other people to see if we can make a coordinated effort on this. Please don't hesitate to comment with more suggestions or tweet me at @_imblub
