With the start of the new year I have several announcements to make.
Firstly, following the release of the complete Carmen tracks last year, I'm excited to announce that the complete La Traviata tracks are scheduled for release on 21 March 2023. The tracks are available in high-quality audio via Spotify and iTunes.
Secondly, upon request by many it is now possible to use my tracks for public performances. Depending on the size of your audiences this can be free of charge or against payment of a fee. More information is available on my website: www.thesoundofopera.com/index.php?static=performan…
Thirdly, I will continue making new videos of opera highlights. In the coming months you can look forward to 2 opera choruses, 2 tenor arias and 1 soprano aria. Happy New Year to you all and stay tuned!

Done! I've just uploaded the very last part of the complete La Traviata karaoke. It will go live on 28 June. I'm now going to take a summer break so there won't be a new video in July, but during the whole month of August you will get all 31 Carmen videos in the new style with bigger font; every day a new video. And in September I will be back with my new series of highlights from various operas. Stay tuned!

The poll is closed and I'm quite surprised at the result (16%, 4%, 36%, 44%, 0%). I had expected most people wanting arias and duets, but the poll shows there is a clear demand for larger ensembles and works for chorus. I will therefore make some of those as well. Because I have already started working on four arias I will finish those first. I'm making an aria for coloratura soprano, dramatic mezzo-soprano, lyric tenor, and baritone with high tessitura. I intend to make a famous quartet after that. I will keep the exact titles a surprise.

When I've finished La Traviata, what would you like me to do next? (I will not make a complete opera anymore)

I'm excited to announce that from today some of my backing tracks are available in high audio quality on Spotify and other streaming platforms. You can also find them on TikTok and online music stores such as iTunes and Amazon Music. Go to my website for more information and direct links: www.thesoundofopera.com/?static=streaming

I have created chapters for all Carmen and Traviata videos to make it easier to find specific parts of a song or to skip long intros. I hope you find it useful. I also just uploaded next weeks video "Teneste la promessa... Addio del passato". It's beautiful and I hope you like it too. It will go live on 28 January (short version) and on 14 February (full version).

The poll is closed and the results are 11%, 56% and 33%. A large majority is in favour of the bigger font, but opinions are mixed whether this should be introduced immediately or after La Traviata. Since there are slightly more votes for an immediate introduction I will therefore switch to the bigger font starting on 14 January so the whole 3rd Act will be in the new style.

I am considering to use a bigger font for the lyrics. I have uploaded a video (unlisted) as an example of the new style. More explanations are given in the description of the video. Please let me know if you think this is an improvement. See video here: https://youtu.be/-YwLKhIQ8Zc

I doubted for a long time whether I should make the prelude to Act 3 since it would not be a real karaoke video. On the other hand, it would be the only missing part of the opera, so for the sake of completeness I decided to include it anyway. This beautifully delicate piece of music will go live on 28 December.
Then, from January to May you will get 2 videos per month, starting on 14 January with a weird video full of silence because it's basically a 4 minute long recitative, followed by some of the most beloved parts of the opera "Addio del passato" and "Parigi, o cara", both in a short and full version.
But first you will get the Act 2 Finale "Alfredo, Alfredo, di questo core" on 28 November. The Finale is scheduled for 28 June and I'm already preparing for my next project. Stay tuned!

I've just finished the Act 2 Finale "Alfredo, Alfredo, di questo core". It sounds fantastic and I'm quite chuffed with the result. For this video I needed to reprogram my karaoke software because it could show only 10 parts whereas I needed 11. It can now handle up to 12 parts. The video will go live on my YouTube channel on 28 November, but first you'll get 2 other videos from La Traviata on 14 and 28 October. If you enjoy my work, please subscribe to my channel and give my videos thumbs up.

Welcome to The Sound of Opera, my Official Artist Channel.
As a great opera lover I create backing tracks from the classical opera repertoire. I will publish a new karaoke video on the 28th of every month and occasionally also on the 14th of the month. If you like my videos, please give them thumbs up.
The tracks are available for everybody's enjoyment and can also be used by professional singers for their performances. On my website www.thesoundofopera.com you can find more information about my work, upcoming videos, and how to clear licenses for covers, TV, film, theater and other public performances.
Alternatively you can showcase your talents on Smule where I also post my backing tracks: www.smule.com/thesoundofopera
