in the future - u will be able to do some more stuff here,,,!! like pat catgirl- i mean um yeah... for now u can only see others's posts :c
Doing an obligatory bump for the last minute year in video I decided to do, which basically comes up to be a music video styled compilation of the stuff I made (across channels, not just this one) and ended up also being one where I just showed off some of my favorite music.
More stuff in the works already as well, including some really "not what you would expect from me in terms of me mostly posting about anime" video, BUT with the same spirit and style (maybe) that I inject into my anime stuff. I will maintain that I have never claimed to be just an anime channel, and my bio clearly says "anime related videos mostly" emphasis on "mostly" and my updated channel banner just says videos about things I like (this has all been a thinly veiled excuse to not box myself in)

Happy New Year! I did in fact decide last minute, even if it'll be a few days late off the new year exact, to make a kind of retrospective video. I usually do this kind of stuff, reflecting on the past year in a long thread, BUT at one point in time, like not that long ago I guess, I did make a video where it was just a short compilation of the things I made, but it was pretty just put together. This time I wanted to make a kind of music video compilation where it's still just me showing off the videos I made (across all channels, not just this one) but in a more interesting presentation. I just thought it'd be fun.
And since I'm here, I'll also say, that I might have some more interesting plans for the channel now after a few more days since the last time I thought about things (literally the last community post) for example, posting more, perhaps in the form of shorter videos (maybe even literally just shorts) and the like. I just want to post more in general and be more active. Streaming is something that would seem fun, rhythm games for me in this case, but I'll see.
Anyways, I'll see everyone pretty shortly when this short new video is up, and of course I'm still gonna be on places like Bluesky where I might have some more updates there too for things I want to post as well, cheers! (Pictures attached are a very early preview of the video, as you can see I haven't even put in the videos themselves in the framing devices, just playing around with colors still)

Writing this while not at home, but, figured giving an update before the month ends would be good.
Unfortunately can't get out some kind of end of year video in, maybe consider the things I've edited elsewhere to be that (i have a playlist and update about that on Bluesky/Twitter as always) BUT, and I'm not gonna be too declarative, because I feel like that's a death spell, but I have stuff I want to get out for next year. Put another way, I want to finally learn how to balance and lock in with my own uploads while also maintaining all the busy work editing elsewhere not named here.
So even though I'm not home, I already have a draft of the Atri follow up script, plans for: Shoshimin series, Kekkai Sensen, Melatonin(a game) and even Yozakura Quartet (manga), plus secretly drafting up a Dandadan and an 86 (light novel) video, but a lot of this is in the conceptual stage where I'm just storyboarding the video in my head and drafting the wide arc of what the script might be. As usual, I am fickle and whatever piques my interest might just plug itself in. I had a long list this year of stuff I wanted to make, and I actually hit on quite a few of them, but obviously not most of them. Next year, I want to lock in, the real question is, how far am I gonna throw the keys.

(late) obligatory bump, but nonetheless, for anyone who might be interested in the topic of music within Jellyfish who Can't Swim in the Night, or just anyone interested in more discussions about the show.
I do have a few things planned for the next videos, but I'll start unveiling those probably closer to when I have more concrete things

Barring any serious unforeseen delays, the next video about Jellyfish Can't Swim in the Night's soundtrack will be ready for Halloween! Which isn't because the show is a horror or it has anything spooky in it, its just because the show's first episode's ending scene which jumpstarts the entirety of the show takes place on Halloween, so thematically, I just thought that would be cool. You can tell that I really like the show.
Anyways, just like any other soundtrack video I've done, all the usual rules apply, if you've seen the show, then you'll be right at home if you want to check out a direct analysis of the soundtrack and how it enhances certain scenes or just how the overall themes of the show and soundtrack can coexist and merge together.
And if you haven't then yeah I'll be talking very lightly about scenes that happen all across the show, I don't go into too much detail, but I do mention things that would be kinda deep in the show, including events that happen later, but in general I do stick the analysis mostly just to the music, so it should be relatively like I think the other soundtrack deep dives have been, okay even if you just barely know what the show is about.
But yeah here are some random shots from across the video in the mean time

Apologies for dying, I tend to forget that not everyone uses Twitter which is completely reasonable and 100% the right choice, so any recent activity for why I'm going ghost may not be apparent here. Assuredly progress on the next uploads are making way which I think I may push myself if able to upload twice this month for thematic reasons (I think it would be sick to upload the Jellyfish video on Halloween because that's how the show starts) so I might do an inbetweener. Anyways, yeah, oh yeah and yes Sakuna and Atri has finished airing, and I still kinda want to do videos talking about them in conjunction with their source material, at the very least Atri as a follow up.
Anyways, as always I have a playlist that updates in conjunction with any major videos that I've been on that aren't on this channel www.youtube.com/playlist?list...
and of course that also includes the latest one that recently uploaded: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6Kpa...
Cheers and I'll see everyone soon in the next video (hopefully)

Obligatory bump for the Akagami OST video. If anyone has missed it and have seen the show and are interesting in a very specific analysis on the music then consider giving it a little peep, and even if you haven't seen the show, I do explain the scenes briefly and it is mostly talking about the music, so anyone interested in just musical analysis might have a good time not being lost while watching this.
Otherwise, any detours forgiving, I'm pretty sure the next video I want to make... is another sound track analysis in this same style, so like, yeah, lock in for a few of those. And, I think I might just say it, which is, it'll probably be about Jellyfish Can't Swim in the Night's soundtrack, but knock on wood I actually follow through with it. Same idea, the more knowledge about the actual show, probably the better, but I'll mostly stick to musical analysis in general

The next video in the works, which, I've made decent progress on so who knows how close it will be, is on Akagami no Shirayuki-hime, particularly on the OST made by Michiru Oshima. So I'll be covering the soundtrack in the same way that I did for Insomniacs and WEP, going over specific things about the composer while also taking some songs and doing scene/musical analysis.
Knowledge of the show is not entirely necessary if you are interested in the topic, but it will help because I assume some level of knowledge but I do explain the scenes anyway and I try to bring the analysis at an equal level in that way. With these very specific analysis (of which I do a lot of as you might be able to tell) its always best to get the most out of them with having seen the works, but I try my best to make it as accessible as possible regardless.
But yeah, as always feel free to skip the vid if the topic isn't something you're interested in or you may want to watch the show first to get max context. Pictured below are some progress pics to show off also the visual style I am going for, which is fairytales. I'm using a fairytale book (Grimms) as the base, and using it as the framework

As I begin planning the assets and props for the Akagami no Shirayuki video, I've also finally gotten a box to hold the papercrafts of the last few videos, aptly protected by Karen (probably will decorate with more stickers as I see fit) but I also realize, I am not very good at tetris and I probably need to get another/more boxes soon. This is just the props from the Otaku Elf and Atri video and its already almost full. I already have more ideas to make even more elaborate sets so uh, I guess I'll be box hunting

The obligatory bump for the Atri video as the adaptation is coming up now that the summer season is officially getting under way. There's brief spoilers if you count visual spoilers from the VN but they are quite out of context and I don't go over those specific moments. Otherwise, it's mostly a general vibe discussion with a lot of emphasis on just how I felt about the work, connecting it to original authorial intent for the interesting points about the story's construction and just wondering how exactly things will turn out and whether they align with my own meanderings.
All things considered a very short and hopefully chill video.
I meant to also make a video related to Sakuna of Rice and Ruin, since its also another video game adaptation, but unfortunately that show airs much sooner than I thought and I wouldn't really want to rush it out just to meet that sweet spot, so instead as compensation I'll make a video on Sakuna once it wraps up to do that kind of qualitive comparison of video game to anime. And sure why not maybe I'll actually follow up on Atri (maybe one day I'll come back to talk about Ryza's anime). And of course there's a good chance I live tweet my thoughts on it as the shows air, plus anything else from the next season. (unsubtle plug for that)
Instead, the next in works (if I don't go on any more diversions) is Akagami no Shirayuki-hime, and its soundtrack.
