So I posted a theory I had about notifications a couple days ago, I found pretty conclusive evidence that videos still can do well with notifications on but it just takes an insane amount of time for them to do so. 66 days after upload seems to be the break through point in which videos stop getting griefed by my old viewers and start to actually be recommended.
Notifications for videos will be on from now on ✅

*PLEASE READ* TLDR BELOW
I want to update you guys on what has been happening with my channel. i have gotten a few comments about my past 2 videos not appearing in their subscription feed OR getting notifications from the video. This is intentional. I specifically turned off notifications from my new uploads due to my old audience who used to watch my Rainbow Six Siege videos clicking on my new OSRS content and essentially destroying all possibility for the new content to go "Viral" or get more views then average due to them either seeing the thumbnail and NOT clicking OR WORSE clicking the video only to leave within 30 seconds. Unfortunately there is no way to purge my old subs so I'm forced to completely turn off notifications and subject myself to the volatility of the YouTube algorithm. This is a risky move by me but lets run some numbers on the videos so you can understand more. I'm going to be comparing statistics of my videos when i send them to my subscribers vs not sending them to subscribers.
Video A(Notifications Sent):
Views: 10,000
Click Through Rate: 7.6%
Average % Watched: 57.3%
Video B(Notifications NOT Sent):
Views: 6,100
Click Through Rate: 13.5%
Average % Watched: 62%
Yes Video B does has less views BUT theoretically it has way more potential to be recommended to new viewers based on the almost doubled CTR from 7.6% to 13.5%, and an increase in watch %. This is what i am testing currently and it is the reason you aren't seeing them in your sub feed or with notifications but you are seeing them on your home page with YouTube.
