I have been working on a couple different videos recently but ran into a major computer issue...the motherboard! It may take some time to repair. Sigh. Meanwhile any weavers in SE Wisconsin want to weave in a park somewhere? I'll be here for a couple weeks!

I'm not ignoring you guys, I promise. I've been a little down of late and struggling to get the motivation to complete a couple different videos I've started. On the other hand, my youngest graduated high school, I started running (up to 25 minutes in a row!) and the strawberry harvest is off the hook! Get out and enjoy some weaving. Love you all!

Just conpleted another revolution around the sun (happy birthday to me) and planning the next video. What pattern would you like?

I am doing final touches on the next video now and will probably release it as an instant premiere in the next hour or so. I meant to have it go live this morning anyway, but it was a crazy weekend! Hope to see you all shortly!

I've been away for a couple months but I'm editing a video now! I hope to have it ready by Friday morning (my time). Smokey is particularly vocal in this one...

Happy new year, friends!
Where have I been?
Letting you all know that I haven't disappeared--I have had a lot on my plate and working a little on a few experiments that I can share with you soon. Keep creating and learning.

I know many people around the world are starting to celebrate the American tradition of Thanksgiving, so I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving filled with great food, friends and family around your table! What are you thankful for?

Hello friends! I'm currently uploading a new video and, if all goes well, it should be live tomorrow morning (10 am PST, 1 pm EST, much later in Europe...cannot math that much). See you in the AM!

Hello, weaving friends! Just a couple weeks ago, I had 27,000 viewers. Now it's on the cusp of 30,000! So happy to see all the new subscribers here--WELCOME!--and I hope you enjoy the weaving videos with a smattering of history. I know it's been a minute since the last video, but I'm in the midst of replacing the flooring in Area 51/Snailhaven Studio, and working on the content for the next video. All that nasty carpet is gone and I'm putting in some gorgeous acacia hard wood! I'm installing it myself, which is a fun challenge but also very tiring!

Away at the camping event this weekend, I took a moment to pull up my YouTube account and saw that the community has now reached 27,000 subscribers. It warms my heart to see so many crafts-folks together learning and enjoying tablet weaving! Thank you all for being here, and for supporting me and each other. Have a great day, and I'll see you soon. I'm off to unpack the camping gear!

Hi! I'm known as Elewys of Finchingefeld in the SCA (aka Karen, in real life...yeah, I know...I'm not THAT kind of Karen) and I have dabbled in a lot of fiber arts, but my real love is historic tablet weaving. I'm here to teach you how you, too, can create amazing historic tablet woven pieces, whether you are a beginner or very experienced! I also share some advise and trade secrets to make your experience easier and more enjoyable.
You can watch the Weave Along videos in any order, but the idea was for beginners to start with easy patterns and work their way up to more complex patterns. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask, or just drop me a note to say hello and share what you've been making. We're all friends here!
If you want to show your appreciation for my work, I have a "tip jar" at ko-fi.com/elewys. Thank you very much for your support!
