Hey folks,
So things are changing on this end, and the long and the short of it is that I'm going back to school full time at the end of September. A few of you know that I've been keeping it easy for the past year, but it's time to get back into the swing. I'm double-majoring in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics, so needless to say, I'm going to be pretty busy. This means, obviously, that I'm going to be cranking out fewer videos. I'm going to try to have a video every 2 weeks, but there's a good chance that I'll have to prioritize, and that won't happen. More likely is going to be once a month. I do have a fresh bucket of rocks from the Mysterious Supplier, and filming only takes a couple hours a month, but it's the editing that takes forever. Takes me probably a full day a week to edit down a 15 minute video, plus 5 or so shorts.
The frustrating thing is probably the shorts, because there's a steep decline in how youtube pushes my content if I don't put out a bunch of shorts a week, which I'd just as soon not do. If it were just long forms, I might be able to keep up, but I don't want to take all the time to edit a long form if it's only going to get 200 views.
I'll probably pick back up more regularly in December after finals and before the next quarter. I'll try to get a bunch of videos ready in the chute for then, but we'll see what happens!

Hey folks... I'm putting out an ASMR-type video that's just regular speed of me cutting rocks and doing a reveal. Sound's turned way down, and the soundtrack is some sleepytime music. There's a couple rock-cutter type channels who make videos for people to fall asleep to, so I'm gonna see if that gets any hits. Plus it's all the same footage I already have, and if it works, then that's cheap watch-hours :D

ALRIGHT! Part 2 of the Mysterious Supplier Bucket should be out... Friday (12 JUL) morning? There's gonna be thundereggs, more rainbow jasper, and of course... a nice fat chunk of nephrite jade!
There's also going to be a few shorts chopped from that video, but if you're reading this, you're probably not the same audience that watches my shorts. I'm only putting them out because (I learned the hard way) youtube apparently won't push your regular videos if you don't put out a few shorts on the side. Because of this, I basically have to play to two different audiences. The other thing is that shorts get a huge bump when I'm obnoxious and swear, but the long forms do better with my regular reactions. It's frustrating. So I decided to start splicing in slightly different audio to the shorts (mostly me yelling "HOLY S**T!) because hey... it boosts the numbers. Just pointing this out so that if you happen to catch a short and the reaction's different from the long form, I'm only doing it to appease the algorithm.
If youtube didn't kneecap my longforms, I wouldn't be doing shorts at all anymore. But to quote Cooper "The Ghoul" Howard... "We cowboys... we take it as it comes."

OK, I WANTED to have some videos out this week, but I forgot that it's 4th of July, and I'm hosting a party at my house, and have to clean a ton of stuff, and have no time for editing, etc. Plenty of footage, just not capable of getting it to your happy screens in time. I may have time to get a short or something out by Saturday, but y'all just might have to go without your rock cutting addiction this week :D

I got another Short Cuts video coming out tomorrow! I know I've been hot on the jade because of the last 2 trips, but that doesn't mean I've stopped doing regular rock cutting vids!
Though it does mean that a LOT more jade-centric content is coming. Stay tuned..!
