If Laveda’s first record was a premonition of apocalypse, then their follow-up ‘A Place You Grew Up In’ is a shimmering, sensory, and sensitive time-capsule. The former Albany, now Brooklyn-based duo spent much of 2021 in LA working with friend and producer Dylan Herman (Beck) on their second full-length LP. Balancing tender songs edged with slacker-rock guitars and spiraling otherworldly synths, the album flits from the lyrical intimacy of Big Thief to the expansive sonics of classic acts like Slowdive or The Cranberries. The album garnered support from blogs such as Brooklyn Vegan, Under The Radar, The Independent, The Revue, The Rodeo Mag, and many others. Along with the talents of Joe Taurone (drums) and Dan Carr (bass) the four-piece have embarked on several extensive headlining tours across the US post-pandemic.
