I woke up this morning to hear the devastating news that Taylor Hawkins had passed away. I immediately went out to the studio, no preparation or warmup, I had to just get this emotionally charged performance out of my system.
Taylor was an absolute drumming monster and a pure fire fire cracker of a performer who shaped my playing and attitude towards live performance significantly. It seems so completely messed up that he’s no longer with us but his amazing music will live forever.
Rest in peace Taylor Hawkins.
