There is a temple of Lord Kalijai and due to this the island popularly known as KALIJAI Island. Its located 8 KM far from Hotel Swosti Chilika Resort by boat. Easily every one can get local boats as well as boats provided by OTDC (A government of Odisha organization) from Balugaon (Khordha District), Rambha (Ganjam District) as well Satapada (Puri District). But OTDC boats are more comfortable and safest one. One major draw back is tourists who traveled there are really useless one. By throwing their using food stuffs, used water bottles, fruit juice cans, coconuts etc they spoiled the beauty island. After completion of picnic party the tourist never thought regarding the cleaning of the island and its bay area. Government of Odisha must focus for this as well as tourist must aware about this. People are moving to NGT on Balijatra case but they must think once about Chilika Lake. Chilika Lake is the pride of Odisha.
