Splatoon is a third-person shooter video game franchise created by Hisashi Nogami, and developed and owned by Nintendo. Splatoon takes a twist on standard third-person shooters because in this game, you play as a teenage squid or octopus and shoot ink at your opponents and you can also paint the ground to swim in, or to charge up powerful special weapons.
