Protecting our nations' interests at home and overseas is the calling the armed forces answer on a a daily basis. As the UK works and sleeps, they are on duty, 24/7 around the globe keeping the peace, tackling terrorism, delivering humanitarian aid and above all, keeping Britain safe.
Deployed on 39 operations in 46 countries, around 11,000 soldiers sailors and airmen are deployed at any one time, with many more ready to jump out the door at a moment's notice.
