TIRED of Getting Pushed Around!!!???

Food pushers find ways to sabotage your relationship with food by making comments about your eating choices or insisting you eat differently —whether that be more, less, or different foods—than you currently are.

You know the drill: Auntie Linda demands you try your favorite dish even after you told them you had WLS!

WHAT IF?? What does your journey say about you?

Mine tells me that I sometimes feel depleted of energy after a big long day so I need to retreat, relax to renew and regenerate…

Mine tells me that sometimes I look to others for validation and why it’s essential that I don’t!

Mine also shares the keys to what my success is (which will be different than yours) and what my strengths are.

At the end of the day… if you are 3 days post op or 3 years post op… what if you honored yourself and the journey

URRGH!!!??? Why do some of us regain the weight after bariatric surgery?

One of the greatest fears we face when seeking weight-loss surgery is the fear of weight regain. This is understandable considering that virtually everyone that has undergone weight-loss surgery has at some point been a “Yo-Yo Dieter” during their weight-loss journey.

Do some of us regain the weight? Unfortunately YES but … the good news is that with weight-loss surgery, the weight loss seen post-operatively can be maintained throughout a long period of time if you are aware of causes and then use strategies either preventatively or to help you get back on track.

The key factors influencing long term weight loss management after a bariatric surgical procedure can be sorted into three categories: environmental, patient related and procedure related.

However, it is important that we keep in mind that obesity is a chronic disease that is not cured by surgery.

Surgery provides a powerful tool for significant weight loss, but without proper care “the tool” can lose its effectiveness, possibly leading to weight regain if we did not commit to the lifestyle changes and behavior modifications. Surgery is only one tool in the toolbox … you need all the tools if you want long term success.

I am coming up on my 3 years post op. I have maintained a 140 lb weight loss without significant regain.
