Do you think it would be better to have a lot of props like a real house or not so many props like in the video?

So as I was writing the script for the game, I felt like I wanted to change the story a little bit, while still keeping the story of the original video in some way. Just go into a darker, more metaphorical style. I just think it might be worse for the story and destroy the original video.
What do you think?
