Babij Jar was a band from Oslo, active 1979 - 1989.
Original members were Per Biørn Amundsen, guitar, Rolf Bakken, drums, Carl Delingsrud, guitar, Ole Einar Olsen, bass and Paul Værlien, vocals.This lineup released an EP in 1980, "Ice Age", on indie label Zado. Five songs were released on various compilations.
1983, Tori Børsum Liseth joined on keyboards. In July, tracks for an album were recorded. Lack of record deal and funds meant the tracks went unreleased for some time.
1984, Olsen and Liseth left. Bjørn Rølla, bass and Ole Randers-Pehrson, keyboards joined. This lineup completed the debut album "The Night Before", released on Uniton label spring 1985.
Late 85, second album "Stalingrad" was recorded, and released 1986.
A few reunion shows took place 2008 - 2014.
