hi, everyone

first of all, i'd like to apologise for being mia for almost a year. i had to take my college entrance exams and my first year could be... going way better

so ive noticed that the coffee shop playlist has been blocked bc of copyright issues and i plan on reuploading the video as soon as i can without the copyrighted songs, that is. you can still find the complete playlist in my spotify and soundcloud accounts which i'll be linking at the end of the post

now ive been curating playlists all this time and i hope to be able to start working on the videos in a few months when school's over and i can finally catch a break

thank you all very much for your support and stay safe 🥧🧸🧱

hi, it's dia speaking !!

so this is the first time i use this feature and i wasn't planning on doing it yet but i feel like the situation is escalating really quickly and it must be acknowledged.

i assume you guys are familiar with covid-19, the virus originated in wuhan last december that started the european leg of its world tour a few months ago and has been causing major trouble ever since. well, as i happen to live in spain, i wanted to talk about how the problem is overall affecting us and, let me tell you, it's way worse than expected. to be fair, this isn't actually due to the virus itself, but rather to the way citizens and authorities are reacting to the whole situation.

today, the national government has finally declared the state of alertness after days of raising awareness and inciting preventive and health measures. it's been announced the possibility of both a curfew and military intervention if needed. the problem comes when people completely ignore the authorities' instructions and go clubbing or partying even though they know what's at risk. the problem comes when people take these two weeks of quarantine as a "vacation" claiming that there's no way they ain't gonna go out when there's no school for half a month. the problem comes when those people choose to deliberately endanger the lives of those around them as well as their own.

moving on, yesterday, la junta de andalucía (the institution in charge of the government in the autonomic region i live in), announced the cancellation and closure of schools, universities ... for the next two weeks, a completely understandable measure that should've been proposed a long time ago considering the situation in the rest of the country: 4209 people infected and 120 deaths as of today (2078 of them diagnosed in the capital). however, also, la junta de andalucía not only hasn't canceled yet semana santa, a holiday known especially for gathering thousands of people for HOURS during SEVEN days but has even stated that "it's still on". the fact that citizens act so selfishly and recklessly is already bad on its own but if we realize an OFFICIAL INSTITUTION is encouraging that kind of behavior ... , well, i think it's pretty self explanatory.

what i'm trying to say here is: please, be responsible. whichever state your country is in right now regarding the virus: take care of yourselves and follow the instructions you are given. stay alert for daily updates, wash your hands regularly, drink lots of water, use clinex/ handkerchiefs when coughing and most importantly: DO NOT HOLD UP YOUR SANITARY SYSTEM. follow your government's directions carefully and try to stay as calm as possible.

if your country/ region is already quarantined or has a curfew, create an easy-to-follow schedule to keep yourself busy: do your homework, read, watch series, dance, workout, listen to music ... whatever makes you happy. allow yourself to do all those things you always want but can't do bc of time and take this chance to spend some quality "me" time as well.

well, i think this is it so thx for coming to my TEDTalk and stay safe y'all.
