*History of Tenshinryu Hyoho(天心流兵法)
Tenshinryu is a comprehensive martial art that was born in the early Edo period.
The founder of Tenshinryu, Tokizawa Yahei, served the Tokugawa Shogun's swordsmanship instructor, Yagyu Munenori, from an early age.
After he was allowed to take up his position, he was allowed to branch out and reorganize the techniques that Munenori had devised based on the Shinkage-ryu, which he named Tenshinryu.
Tenshin-ryu was used by the Eishi(影士) called Shirin-dan(士林団), who were under the control of the Ometsuke(大目付), but were dismissed by the 8th Shogun Yoshimune.
Since then, Tenshinryu has been handed down in the Kanto region by descendants of the Shirindan, and is currently being taught in the Kanto region by the 9th generation Nakamura Tenshin Sensei, the 10th Shike Kuwami Masakumo Sensei, and the 11th Shike Ide Ryusetsu Sensei.
