The musical journey of bassist Darius Pope, better known as DP, began at the tender age of five when DP learned to play the drums from his brother Cromwell. While drumming in the church DP became inspired the low end sounds of the bass, leading to the most influential gift of his life, his first four-string bass and amp. The dedicated young bass player quickly taught himself songs of genres ranging from gospel to hip-hop after only one lesson from the church bassist who first inspired his musical path.
While completing his Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from CSU-Pueblo, DP took every opportunity to perform with several ensembles, jazz choir, concert choir, as well as playing bass, keys and drums in the jazz band.
