Md Umar Ashraf, a civil engineer by education who later pursued a masters in journalism, is founder of www.heritagetimes.in, a website dedicated to bringing out the less known facts of Indian history. He has served in capacity of historian for different museums undertaken by Ministry of Culture, GoI & projects under NBT. Several newspapers & portals have covered his impact on the popular history. With a keen interest in Bihar and Muslim politics, Mr. Ashraf has brought out legacies of people like Hakim Kabeeruddin (in whose honour the government recently issued a stamp). Presently, he manages heritagetimes.in.
