SAPPHIRE
Sweet warmth of your radiant glow so soothing,
Light that draws me from the shade
Like morning flowers with petals reaching
The start of each day is made.
Basking in your essence, youthful vigour renewed,
Old wood bearing new growth once again
As I branch out in ways long not pursued
With words, song, and dancing in rain.
Sapphire skies to experience and soar
Sapphire waters on which to drift
Dreams of a distant island shore
Sunshine smiles, my wings do lift.
Carry me over the sea of tears, climbing higher,
Yearning to touch, to caress, to hold,
To taste this beautiful gem, my sapphire desire,
A precious treasure waits to unfold.
Sapphire skies to experience and soar
Sapphire waters on which to drift
Dreams of a distant island shore
Sunshine smiles, my wings do lift.
