Welcome to my youtube channel of âTraditional Music BDâ. Bangladesh is country that has very deep traditional music roots & it is known as a land of music. The folk music of Bangladesh, in particular, is deeply connected with the tradition of the country and resonates through the 87 thousand villages of Bangla. Music was not only used as a form of documenting the lives of people by writing songs about them, but it was a vital part of their prayers. Most of the songs that were written include praise to their gods. There are also Baul gaan, Jari gaan, Kobi gaan and Pala gaan, which keep the listeners and audience spellbound for nights together in Bengal villages.
Also, the songs were composed for different groups in the community, such as monk, boatmen and cart drivers, each having specific songs relating to them.
