What I know of my Sinti Gypsy culture comes from food. Holidays and reunions in Germany spent gathered around the stove. The kitchen is the heart of our home. It is an event for us, and everyone has their own style and own contribution to make to the meals. When you come over to our house, someone will always ask if you have eaten, because it is their way to say "now don't tell everybody that I didn't offer you something to eat!"
My mother is a trained chef from a long line of self taught kitchen masters. We have been traveled the world many times over and have been exposed to all sorts of cultures. Every place we have gone, every person we were fortunate enough to have shared a kitchen or table with, has contributed to all the wonderful recipes we have collected.
We rarely measure. We rarely stick to recipes. We go on taste. We are impulsive and like to invent. So if you are tired of following rules, follow us, and lets make some good food.
