My instinct was wrong about X; in its present state, it is worse than Youtube.
I have been indefinitely suspended on X without any specific reason; I was accused of violating the rules against "inauthentic accounts", which seems to be a catch-all for basically doing anything on the platform that they deem "inauthentic" (seemingly defined in the broadest, most intellectually dishonest interpretation of the term).
They certainly did not perform a "careful review", as was claimed; I used my real name, my email, and I was authentically interacting as myself.
Maybe they are referring to when I posted an AI-generated image of Elon Musk made by AI engine "Grok" created by X. Was this "inauthentic" and, therefore, against the rules, or was it merely permissible use of the services provided by the platform? Since my suspension seems to be an automated function with no human to address, it appears that I'll never know the answer.
How do you reasonably enforce rules on a platform if the user is unable to know when or how he or she may have violated them and there is no reasonable way to appeal or ascertain the basis of the enforcement? (I think this is a question more people should be asking corporate and governmental entities.)
My two most recent posts were criticizing two recent media narratives: the purported facts surrounding Luigi Mangione's arrest (and allegations that he murdered the UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson) and, subsequently, an article alledging that Daniel Penny's defensive action was "white vigilantism". I also shared some verses from the Holy Bible in various comments. To say these had anything to do with my suspension would only be speculation, but if it wasn't this that created the impetus for my indefinite suspension, then what was it and by what means can I discern it?
I had a good two-week run on X. I don't want to blame Elon (yet!), as I know he still has people running things from the old Twitter team; it's possible there are disgruntled Twitter (X) employees trying to sabotage the site.
At the present time, it appears that so-called "free speech" is dead on anti-social media.
Thanks for reading.

Looks like Google is about to lock me out of this account like it did my other account. I'm not giving them a phone number. You can follow me on X: x.com/RyanGBanister

I joined X. I think it is shaping up to be a better platform than YouTube.
